Dajti Mountain rises to the east of the city of Tirana.  It was declared a national park in 1966. It has an area of ​​about 294 km2 and its highest point reaches 1612 m. The park offers historical values ​​of cultural, touristic and natural heritage.

 The park has various geological formations, among them we mention Bovilla lake. The park is bordered to the north by Kruja, to the east by the ‘Xibër-Mali me Gropa’, to the south-west by ‘Priska e Madhe’ and to the south by the river Erzen.Phytogeographic areas such as: Mediterranean maquis, Quercetum, Fagetum and subalpine and alpine pastures where rare and protected chestnut and walnut trees can also be found there.

Among the mammals we distinguish: the wolf, the bear, the wild boar, the weasel and the wild cat.  A total of 991 species of indoor plants have been identified in the territory of the park.  In the Dajt-Mali me Gropa massif, only 4 endemic plant species have been identified: the bellflower of Skënderbeu, the Margrave's bellflower, the flowerbell of Korab and the Albanian thlaspi.

The scientific and didactic values ​​of the park are added by the breathtaking landscapes of the capital that lies below it, the many lakes and hills around.  The park is a very frequented tourist destination all the days of the year, both for relaxation and the many services, but also for sports enthusiasts, such as hiking, etc.
