Natural Reserves, Kardhiq's Fir

Natural Reserves, "Kardhiq's Fir ” is located in Gjirokastra District. It has a current surface of 4303.6 ha. This reserve is divided into two sub-areas:

• The Central sub-zone which includes the main forest and bush habitats and is defined as an area with high and rare values for natural heritage and biodiversity and in which the highest degree of protection is applied, ensuring an undisturbed territory.
• The Subzone of Traditional Use and Sustainable Development includes forest and agricultural lands, and water territories where it is possible to continue traditional activities such as forest health works, agricultural activities, grazing, collection and cultivation of medicinal and aromatic plants, with their balanced use and constructions and economic activities that cause a change in the natural state of the natural ecosystem are not allowed.
