Gërmenj-Shelegur Park is located in Kolonje, Korça, with an area of about 430.00 ha. The park has been declared a nature reserve and is a cross-border area of special importance, to ensure the continuity of natural habitats between Albania and Greece. Sheleguri is a rugged and very beautiful mountainous place, southwest of Erseka, on the way to Leskovik. It is the place where the mountains harmonize with deep valleys, wetlands, rushing streams and especially dense and mixed forests such as: fir, oak, beech, black pine.

Lake Sheleguri has a wonderful panorama, where the graceful ridges of the Nemerčka mountain range can be seen beyond the water in the background. Radanji castle ruins, south of Germenji forest, about 1 km walk from the main road, where views of old Illyrian ruins of great historical importance are also offered.

The area is a region with high biodiversity, in terms of habitats and species. All phytoclimatic zones meet in a fairly narrow area, from Mediterranean forests and bushes to Mediterranean mountain pastures. About 500 ha are completely virgin forests. The most interesting formations are those of: Abies borisii-regis Matf. Forest formations of black pine and fagus sylvatica have good development. While the most interesting and rare formations are considered those of: alnus glutinosa-Salix sp.-Populus nigra, with hazelnut. In the interior there are beautiful lakes and wetlands from a landscape point of view, but also from a floristic point of view. They represent important habitats for large mammals such as: bear, wolf, roe deer, etc.

The area is rich in cold springs, also the ideal place to discover nature with long walks, picnics and mountain climbing. This remains the destination that offers endless beauty, in every season of the year.
