Shën Theodhor Monastery, Ilias-Dhërmi

Reivews 0

The monastery of Shën Theodhor is located between the villages of Ilias and Dhërmi on a hill covered with olive and cypress trees, offering a wonderful sea view. The monastery was built in the XIV century, on the ancient temple of the god Zeus and the goddess of hunting Artemis. In 1946 it was closed by the communist regime, and later became a military base for the Soviets.

The monastery has a beautiful view and unforgettable impressions of all visitors, both local and foreign. Very close to it, tourists can visit Gjipe beach, one of the most beautiful and less explored of the southern coast. The road from the parking lot to the Monastery takes about 10 minutes through a cobbled road.
