“Shën Nikollas” Church, Ilias

Shën Nikollas Church is located next to the national road on the Dhërmi-Vuno axis, about 170 m from the village of Ilias. The church is functional for all religious ceremonies held by the villagers. This church is reconstructed, but you can still find stones from the foundation of the church on the surrounding walls, which testify to its age of hundreds of years.

The church is dedicated to Shën Nikollas, otherwise known as "Nikollas of Bari", an early Christian bishop of Greek origin from the city of Myra in Asia Minor, in the period of the Roman Empire. As a result of many miracles dedicated to Shën Nikollas, he is known differently as Nikolas the Wonderworker. Nikollas is the saint of sailors, merchants, archers, repentant thieves, children, bachelors and students.
