Piqeras Village

At about 28 kilometers from Saranda, the village of Piqeras is located between Lukova and Borshit. The village is situated between a mountain and the sea on a green hill. The two-story stone houses with red roofs and windows overlooking the sea are unique. Also endless plantations of olives and citrus fruits, which descend in waves to the sand of the sea, where the untrodden beaches of this unusual relief are hidden.

On the hill above Piqeras is the Kremensova Monastery, which is believed to have been built in 1672. The monastery looks like a watchtower over the village and allows you to look at the islands of Corfu, the hills of Kakome and the mountain of Shëndelliu and up to the top of Llogara with the entire water space of the Ionian Sea, which is included in this space.

Piqerasi remains the most cultural village of the coast, with wise and good people. Those who live in Piqeras today are a small number of mostly elderly residents, who spend most of the day tending to roses and seasonal crops. This village is visited by many foreign and local tourists, who are amazed by the beauty of this centuries-old village.
