Ilias Village

The village of Ilias is located on the hill called Cikopulla. It is a small village with no more than 200 inhabitants, which is located along the picturesque road of the Ionian coast, just past the village of Dhërmi.

In the interior of the village, along an unpaved road, there is the Monastery of Stravidhi, which is dedicated to the Theotoq. It is built over the ancient temple of God Dias and Goddess Artemis. On the 15th, in August, it has become a tradition for the residents of this area to celebrate Shën Marisë Day. The villagers of the area produce wine, to which they have given the same name as the village.

In Ilias there are also the old walls of the Pirgu Castle, which dates back to 3000 years ago, as well as the Monastery of Shën Theodhorit . Where the stream joins the sea, Gjipe Beach appears as a surprise. Near the village there is a fantastic beach, Zupa, which ends in a magnificent cliff created by tectonic patterns.
